Neogen® Petrifilm® Bacillus cereus Count Plates (BC Plates) are designed specifically for the enumeration of Bacillus cereus in a wide range of foods and environmental samples.
To perform the test, inoculate 1 mL of diluted sample onto the plate and spread evenly using the Petrifilm spreader.
The plates contain selective components, growth inhibitors and indicator dyes that allow Bacillus cereus to develop as clearly identifiable blue colonies.
The transparent background and printed grid support fast, consistent and accurate counting.
BC Plates are suitable for rice, pasta, spices, dairy products, meat products, processed foods and food-contact surfaces.
Most results can be read within 24 hours, making the method ideal for routine QC and batch release testing.
